Offer! Offer! Offer! - Go to America & Canada Now!

Are you dreaming of going to America or Canada? Excited to leave India for a life full of wealth, comfort, and fun abroad? Well, it sounds great! Pack your bags, say goodbye to your family, and get ready for the ‘Great American Dream.’ But before you jump on that plane, let’s take a closer look at what really happens when you go abroad.

First, imagine living far away from your family and friends. You’ll be thousands of miles away in a place where festivals like Diwali, Holi, and Ganesh Chaturthi are just normal days. No celebrations, no tasty sweets, and no family to enjoy it with. Instead, you might find yourself alone on weekends, missing all the love and joy that you could have had back home. Is it worth trading all that for a life where you might feel lonely?

And what about the work? Yes, there are jobs abroad, but they might not be what you expect. Many educated people end up doing jobs like washing dishes, cleaning toilets, or serving in restaurants. Imagine spending so much money to go abroad, only to do work that you wouldn’t even think of doing here. But hey, you can still take nice photos and post them on social media to make everyone back home think your life is perfect. But deep inside, will you really be happy?

Now, let’s talk about the culture in America. It’s very different from what we know here in India. The family ties, respect for elders, and our Hindu values are slowly disappearing there. If you move abroad, you might find yourself in a culture that doesn’t value the things we hold dear. Is that the kind of life you want?

And to the young women in our community who dream of marrying someone abroad—please think twice. Life abroad is not as easy as it looks. You may face cultural problems, legal issues, and the loneliness of being far from your family. Many women who marry and move abroad end up isolated or depressed, with no one to help them if things go wrong. And what if your dreams of a happy life abroad turn into a nightmare?

But what if, instead of chasing a dream abroad, you used that energy to build a better life here in India? Our country is full of opportunities, rich in culture, and offers strong family support. You can grow your career, celebrate our festivals, and stay close to your loved ones—all without leaving your roots.

I’ve had a taste of life abroad when I spent two months in Australia as a teenager. I spent time abroad and realized that the true joy is here in India, with my family, our festivals, and the opportunities that our country offers. I chose to stay back and build my life here. And I’m happy I did because nothing compares to the love and support of family.

And yes, I’m sharing this because I want to connect with everyone—whether you believe in staying in India or dream of going abroad. Let’s meet, discuss, and debate both perspectives, so we can understand each other better and work together to strengthen our community. These are just some general views, but there’s so much more to explore and talk about. Because the true Great Indian Dream is one that we can shape together, right here in our own country, with the people who matter most.

So, before you think about leaving, think about what you’re really giving up. Let’s stay in India and make it a better place for all of us.

A Quiet Goodbye

In the narrow lanes of South Mumbai, where the scent of vada pav mingled with the dampness of monsoon, Ravi first met Meher. It was 2009, and they both sat in the same classroom at Mahesh Tutorials near Grant Road station, preparing for their 10th Standard exams. She was Parsi, with bright eyes and a laugh that filled the room, while Ravi was a quiet Gujarati boy who found comfort in their brief conversations during class breaks. Ravi and Meher would sit on the old benches and talk. Their conversations were simple—discussing about how interesting Math was, debating which vada pav in the area is the best, and occasionally sharing their dreams. Ravi would glance at her from the corner of his eyes, wondering if she ever noticed how much he enjoyed these moments. But he never said a word about his feelings, believing that silence was better than rejection. A few weeks before their SSC exams, it was Ravi’s birthday. He hadn’t told many people about it, not expecting much of a celebration. B...
